Why others fail · 5 min read
American voice prosody is unmistakable to Indian listeners. Buyers hang up before the second sentence.
We tried six American AI calling tools on Hindi-English calls in 2025. Five had identical failure modes: the voice was technically saying Hindi words but with English sentence-stress patterns. Indian listeners pick this up in 4-5 seconds and lose trust. The conversation never recovers.
Prosody isn’t accent. Accent is about pronunciation. Prosody is about rhythm, where the voice rises and falls, where pauses go, how stress lands inside multi-word phrases. American TTS engines were trained on American audio; their prosody is American even when the words are Hindi.
our voice engine, our voice engine, and our Indic-first TTS are the three engines we’ve tested that pass the prosody test on Hindi calls. Everything else — Stitched-pipeline TTS, Western multilingual TTS Multilingual V2 — fails.
Cultural fit isn’t a feature you bolt on. It’s the training data, and most American vendors haven’t done the work.
